The value of audit work depends on professional competence, careful review and a continuing commitment to quality.
Our Directorate supports these foundations through auditor training, reviews of audit work and reports, research and professional advice. We also contribute to the Office’s certification activities for private auditors and accountants within its statutory authority.
We seek to connect learning with practical improvements in audit methods and working arrangements. By supporting audit teams, maintaining quality assurance procedures and examining the results of audit work, we contribute to the Office’s professional development. Our focus is to help strengthen the quality and usefulness of the auditing services provided to the Somali Regional State.
About the Directorate
Strengthening Audit Quality and Professional Capacity
The Directorate supports the quality and effectiveness of the Office’s audit work through auditor training, research, quality reviews and professional advice. It reviews audit work and reports and develops and updates quality assurance policies and procedures.
It provides technical support to audit teams, studies improvements to audit methods and assesses the results of audit work. Its responsibilities also include professional certification activities for private auditors and accountants and advice on financial directives and regulations.
Audit Quality Reviews
Review audit work and reports, update quality assurance policies and procedures, and oversee the processes used to assess audit quality.
Training & Support
Arrange training for the Office’s auditors and provide technical support and professional advice to audit teams and private practitioners.
Research & Improvement
Conduct research on auditing and accounting practices, propose improvements to audit methods and assess the results achieved through audit work.
Professional Certification
Carry out certification activities for private auditors and accountants seeking to establish professional practices and provide advice on financial directives and regulations.
